Slack

Add GTM to Slack so your team can ask GTM in any thread, and agents can post their updates there.

Get agent updates in Slack
- In an agent's settings, turn on Message me in Slack when it needs me.
- An agent can post its results to a channel or send them to you in a direct message.
- Admins choose what agents may read and post under Agent permissions in Integrations → Slack.
Connect
1 Open Integrations → Slack and select Add to Slack
Admins only. Use the same email in Slack that you use in GTM, then approve GTM in Slack.
2 Open the welcome message
GTM sends you three things to try.
3 Mention @GTM anywhere
In a DM or any public channel GTM is in. To bring GTM into a channel, select Add GTM to a channel in Integrations → Slack.
Good to know
- Each GTM workspace connects to one Slack workspace.
- Teammates without a GTM account can select Ask for access in GTM's Slack app, and an admin gets the request.
- GTM never uses your personal accounts, like your Gmail, in shared channels.
Disconnect
In Integrations → Slack, select Disconnect, then Disconnect Slack. GTM loses access to Slack. Chats and their history stay in GTM.
